Industrial Engineering what is it? Due to the immense scope of the term and the somewhat misleading use of “industrial” this is a question that often arises. In short Industrial Engineering is the balancing of cost, quality and time in any system.

However, this balancing act is most often easier said than done and therefor Industrial Engineers are required to:

  • Analyse the current as-is situation;
  • Propose the future to-be solution; and
  • Identify processes required to bridge the gap between the as-is and to-be.

Whilst using Industrial Engineering tools and techniques such as business process mapping, time studies, data analysis, simulation modelling, facilities design, statistical quality control, waste reduction, ergonomics, bottleneck and throughput analysis to name but a few.

Fischer Consulting’s team of qualified Industrial Engineers are equipped with the necessary knowledge and resources to assist our clients in achieving the perfect balance.
